Integrated Power acquires Southland Electrical Group

Integrated Power Services (IPS), in its journey to expand its service capabilities, coverage and distribution, has acquired electrical equipment and service provider and power management firm Southland Electrical Group.

No financial details were released for the transaction.

Southland Group comprises seven discrete businesses: Southland Electrical Supply, Mid-South Electrical Supply, Industrial Panel Company, Southland Automation, South East Switchgear, Southland Electrical Rentals, and Charter Contact and Supply. It has facilities across four cities in the southeastern United States, including headquarters and locations in Burlington, N.C.; Birmingham, Ala.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and High Point, N.C.

It serves the mining industry as well as aggregates; metals; power generation; utilities; water and wastewater; petrochemicals; air separation; oil and gas; paper; cement; hospitals; universities; commercial buildings; and data centers.

“The acquisition expands IPS’s power management business with industry-leading engineered power solutions, electrical asset distribution sales, and technical field service teams to better serve clients across the southeast United States and North America,” IPS officials said.

Southland President Mike Griggs called the deal a significant milestone for all.

“This partnership will allow us to provide expanded world-class products and services for our customers, which will continue to grow our leadership position in the market. Equally important is the opportunity for our team members to become part of a rapidly growing IPS organization,” he said.

Added IPS President John Zuleger: “Southland is a strategic and important acquisition for IPS’s customer offering. It brings to IPS a knowledgeable people talent base with expertise to solve power management reliability challenges experienced by customers across a broad spectrum of end markets and geographies.”
